About the menu

Deacons Tavern in Clarks Summit offers a comforting American pub menu that brings together familiar favorites with standout twists. Highlights include the acclaimed crab cake on a bun, praised for its exceptional flavor and often considered a must-try. The Boursin Boxty Burger paired with garlic Parmesan fries also showcases the kitchen’s skill at elevating classic dishes. Sides like glazed Brussels sprouts receive particular attention, adding depth and balance to the plates.

Despite its modest size and a somewhat sparse atmosphere, the menu packs a punch with its variety and quality. Customers appreciate the swift service and the welcoming, down-to-earth staff who create a relaxed dining experience. The outdoor patio adds a seasonal charm, enhancing meals during warmer months. Families are well-catered for, with kids eating free and even treated to ice cream, making Deacons Tavern a place where both comfort food and community spirit meet seamlessly.

from a recent review —
It's a little bleak inside. I was the only customer there when I showed up, so between that and the pretty widely spaced-out tables it felt very empty and plain. I got the prime rib with potatoes and brussel sprouts, which came out pretty quick; the steak was a little disappointing but the sides were good, especially the glaze on the brussel sprouts. Service was excellent, even as more people started to arrive I was regularly checked on and asked how everything was and if I wanted anything else. They also sell local artists' pieces off the walls which I think is pretty cool. Definitely worth a stop, especially if you're staying at the attached hotel, they mentioned a discount if you're a guest there. (I wasn't a guest there but it's definitely nice if you are.)
